HORRIBLE POETRY

Title: My Heart and Fears
Author: Charlie Baxter a.k.a. the Baxman
Submitted by: STEVEN O HARVEY

I fear Nothing
My heart is guarded by well-armed sentinels against a
love attack from others.

My fears are locked away in a shatterproof safety
deposit box in a bank on foreign soil.

The Key to that box is hidden away in the back shed of
an unremarkable suburban household (NOT IN BALTIMORE)

Good Luck finding it.

In the mean time I am alone and that is fine by me!

Title: Sand to Mirror
Author: Damascus Steele
Submitted by: DAVID ANGELO

Bounded. I lose my grip.
Desire
what of IT?

The breath of new dawn greats my arrival
unknowing.

ashes of a new era, Darkness creeps
and my arms; they tremble.

Tonight, we start anew.

Serendipitous pride delivers the truth
Capturing all, forgetting none.
Unsure.
Washed clean by the rising sun,
We wait for the sign, and delight in
The dreams of dead youth

A luminous change is set to begin;
to Uncover pain lying deep within
Title: The Color of Pride
Author: Wendell T. Lamont
Submitted by: DAVID ANGELO

When did the sky stop looking blue?
Colors avoid this part of town
Flowers are only in pictures
Trees are all knocked down.
My brothers stay strong
Our children are bold
but the green in our money
is no white man's gold

The sun burns behind that cloud
I am BLACK
And I stand proud.
